Description

Responsible for the daily operations of Salt City Splash Aquatic Center (seasonal facility), including staff management and training, pool programming, and patron safety. Responsible for the implementation of community events and assistance in community festivals, as well as the development and implementation of new, innovative events.



Requirements

Essential Functions:

  • Hires, supervises, and schedules seasonal pool staff. Work with third-party certified aquatics professionals to coordinate staff training.

 

  • Oversees day-to-day operations of seasonal aquatics facility, from mid-May through mid-August.

 

  • Executes and develops pool programming, including swim lessons, birthday parties, private rentals, and water fitness classes.

 

  • Develops, coordinates, and directs assigned events, including: Muddy Hutch 5K/3K; Salt City 5K/10K; Salty Dog Triathlon; and Sand Plum Bicycle Classic. Assists with following community festivals and events, including: Hutch Fest and Brewfest; Smallville Festival; Daddy-Daughter Date Night; Gingerbread House Decorating; and Chocolate Crawl & Wine Walk.

 

  • Assures a competent and well-motivated special events program team by hiring, training, scheduling of staff and volunteers needed for efficient operation.

 

  • Analyzes, researches, and evaluates needs and opportunities for special event programming.

 

  • Expected to provide organized, comprehensible information to staff and volunteers through the use of courteous, equitable, and proper communication tools, allowing for maximum programming efficiency for all participants.

 

  • Expected to provide program reports, information, and data for both divisions as directed in a timely and orderly fashion to the Assistant Executive Director, and/or Executive Director as needed.

 

  • Expected to collaborate with other divisions on certain joint events and festivals.

                 

Additional Functions:

  • Represents Hutch Rec at civic and/or professional engagements and events.

 

  • Ability to work non-conventional hours and schedules.
