We are seeking a driven Hardware Management Coordinator (job title: General Technologist) to join our diverse and growing Hardware and Testing Assembly capability for multiple Programs!

In this exciting role you will be performing a variety of tasks including hardware support and integration activities in support of system development and qualification at the system and subassembly levels. In addition, you'll collaborate with engineers who are responsible for requirements, design, assembly, and qualification.

On any given day, you may be called on to:
  • Manage multiple program high-value assets and hardware
  • Coordinate and track shipping of hardware and test articles
  • Review and author hardware management procedures
  • Track hardware delivery dates and kit hardware accordingly
  • Closely integrate with the engineering team on hardware needs of the program
  • Monitor released engineering data and coordinate with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities
  • Maintain audit trails
  • Research and resolve inconsistencies with design, production, or materials
  • Support Sandia's National Security Resource Center Operations

Qualifications We Require:
  • High school diploma plus three or more years of directly relevant experience; or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Selected applicants will be required to take a Job Placement Assessment before beginning the job to ensure that they can perform the essential physical requirements, with or without accommodations

Qualifications We Desire:
  • Associate degree in Manufacturing/Production Planning or relevant field of study
  • Active DOE Q-level security clearance
  • Experience with nuclear weapon design, development, qualification, or production
  • Experience in assembly, integration, test, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electromechanical assemblies at the system and component levels
  • Experience working with classified and hazardous materials/hardware
  • Experience working in laboratory and field environments
  • Proficiency with computer hardware and software
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Department 8525, Engineering Services Program & Operations leads many key capabilities for the Sandia National Laboratory primary Nuclear Deterrence mission. This department is responsible for Hardware Management & Assembly Operations, Environmental Testing Capabilities, and Calibration Operations & Logistics. Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
